About GHK-Cu

Mechanism of Action

GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide that acts as a cofactor for enzymes involved in tissue remodeling. It stimulates collagen types I and III plus elastin production, enhances angiogenesis via VEGF expression, and modulates metalloproteinases to replace aged tissue. Research shows it can modulate over 4,000 human genes, resetting them to more youthful expression patterns.

Scientific Background

Discovered in 1973, GHK-Cu was identified as responsible for younger plasma having greater regenerative capacity. Levels decline from ~200 ng/mL at age 20 to ~80 ng/mL by age 60. Studies show it can reverse age-related gene expression changes in fibroblasts, essentially reprogramming aged cells to behave more like younger cells.

Clinical Applications

Used for skin rejuvenation, wound healing, and hair restoration. Injectable administration provides systemic benefits; topical delivers targeted effects. Improvements in skin texture, firmness, and radiance typically visible within 4-8 weeks. Also effective for reducing scars, accelerating post-procedure recovery, and stimulating hair growth.
